Controversy has sparked only in the opening round of the Extreme Masters World Finals after Evil Geniuses and Frag eXecutors both declined to have a round restarted following network problems.
The matches between mTw and Frag eXecutors and Evil Geniuses and fnatic were both paused half way through after a DDoS attack on the ESL's servers caused the two Scandinavian teams to freeze during a round.
Such problem allowed Frag eXecutors and Evil Geniuses to win the round in question, with their opponents asking for a round restart.
However, the admins stated that both teams had to agree on the restart, and since FX and EG failed to do so, the matches went on with the scoreline untouched.
Evil Geniuses eventually won their match 18-12, while mTw and the former AGAiN team are still playing.
